ASTROVISION ‘BIG’ BRAND CAMPAIGN

Panasonic asked us to develop a presentation to showcase their giant Astrovision LED displays. We created an award-winning identity for them, developed sales materials and awe-inspiring graphics to be shown on the screens, and designed a unique presentation experience in the only space large enough to hold these massive displays – the warehouse at Panasonic’s New Jersey headquarters.

IDENTITY

We created a unique identity to brand the Astrovision screens. The logo reads “big,” but also resembles a face, communicating the wide-eyed emotional expression viewers experience when seeing the giant screens.

BROCHURE

We developed “the big attraction” as a campaign tagline, and created a series of simple two-word banner statements using “big” for emphasis (big ideas, big results, etc.) This 6-panel brochure, complete with an attached CD of specs and information, was created to arm the Panasonic sales team with an efficient tool to give out to their customers. It explained the technology behind the Astrovision screens in a clear and concise manner, and showcased their large scale applications.

LAUNCH KIT

We also developed this promotional launch kit that would be given to prospective clients as they walked through Panasonic’s warehouse to see the giant Astrovision screens on display. Each kit included a branded t-shirt, totebag and hardhat.

ASTROVISION ANIMATIONS

We created HD animations and videos that were played on the enormous screens during presentations. We brought the ‘big’ logo to life – his eyes and mouth opened up wider, he blinked, and would playfully interact with text as different elements flew on and off the screen.

PRESENTATION EVENT

We branded the massive warehouse where the Astrovision screens were on display to prepare for the sales presentations. Large vinyl banners with our ‘big’ statements were hung all around the giant space. We designed custom caution tape that read “big ideas at work,” and wrapped it everywhere. Viewing points were indicated with vinyl decals of the ‘big’ logo applied to the floor in front of thin kiosks containing information about the angle and distance from the screens.

SPECIAL GUEST FOREMAN

The first presentation was for a very lucrative sale, so we wanted to make it unforgettable. Playing up on the New Jersey warehouse construction theme, we hired Joe Gannascoli (who played Vito on the hit HBO series The Sopranos) to open the presentation. We wrote a funny script for him and he delivered it brilliantly, in character, while touting the great features the audience was about to witness.

MY ROLE

I helped develop the campaign’s overall look and feel, designed the brochure, story boarded and managed the production of all screen animations, conceptualized and planned the presentation – including collaborating on the script for Joe Gannascoli and coordinating with Panasonic’s facilities team, and managed the design team as they created all other materials.

RESULTS:

AN AWARD-WINNING CAMPAIGN THAT HELPED LAND NUMEROUS SALES & NEW ACCOUNTS, INCLUDING A HUGE DEAL WITH XANADU – A 1.8 MILLION SQUARE FOOT MALL, SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX.
