BRAVO EMMY PRESENTATIONS

When Bravo got an Emmy nomination for their series Top Chef Last Chance Kitchen, they called on us to come up with a knockout presentation that they could give to the Emmy judges. It needed to tell the show’s complex multi-platform story and its innovative advertising packages in an engaging yet understandable way. We met with Bravo, digested the huge story and loads of content, and developed an exciting Keynote presentation in under two weeks. This presentation was so successful, that we were called on again when other series were nominated to tell their stories like nobody else could.

TOP CHEF PRESENTATION

Top Chef Last Chance Kitchen was an engaging digital series, which impacted the results of Top Chef (the on-air show.) Second-screen participation and social conversation amplified this experience even further, turning their one-hour show into a seven-day-a-week experience. There were many different story lines to tell, and much content to communicate to the Emmy judges. We rose to the challenge and told this complex story in a clean and easy to comprehend way.

We developed the Emmy presentation with a unique look and feel that utilized Top Chef and Bravo’s overall branding. Focusing on key moments in each story, we showcased the powerful series and how it bounced seamlessly from platform to platform. Dynamic motion and sleek animations helped bring the story to life, adding impact to the scripted presentation. We ‘humanized’ the social media aspect of the stories by pairing warm character photography with bold, stylized social media posts and activity. After Emmy presentations are given, there is a short period of time for questions and answers with the judges. To help frame and lead this conversation, we created this simple visual aid that was shown on the screen during this time. It was a recap of their multi-platform storytelling highlights and key components.

THE SINGLES PROJECT PRESENTATION

The Top Chef presentation won Bravo the Emmy! And the next time the network was nominated, they asked us to work our magic again. This time, it was for their groundbreaking docu-series The Singles Project. This series was shot and produced in real-time, giving viewers the chance to connect directly with the cast and offer up advice and guidance that then shaped their stories. And those stories were told in a 24/7 cross-platform experience that included web, social media, and Bravo’s on-air channel.

Again, we told a very complex story in a visually engaging and easy-to-understand way. Multi-faceted real-time experiences – like fans tweeting advice to a Single for an upcoming date on Friday, checking out romantic mid-date selfies from them on Saturday, getting their thoughts and a brunch pic the morning after, and then seeing the complete date unfold on-air on Tuesday – were communicated through punchy infographics, fly-through animations and fun social media montages. AND THE EMMY GOES TO…

Bravo! So far, we have helped Bravo win three Emmy Awards for three different series. Their top executives consider us a part of their creative team, and the go-to people for Emmy presentations. They even invited us to the official Emmy photo shoot, where I got to hold the fruits of our collective labor.

MY ROLE

I designed the overall look and feel of all Emmy presentations, developed all storyboards for presentation and animation flow, oversaw the design and development teams as they created all materials, and worked with the client on script development and curating content.

RESULTS:

A HOMERUN DERBY – BRAVO HAS WON THREE EMMY AWARDS AS A DIRECT RESULT OF OUR PRESENTATIONS.
